About
JesperJesper is the solo project of singer, guitarist and songwriter Jesper Albers. After years behind the drums in bands like Paceshifters, where he still plays, as well as earlier stints with Mozes and the Firstborn and the Australian group Wolfmother, Jesper decided to step into the spotlight himself. His music sits somewhere between alt-country and ’90s indie rock, with a loose, melancholic vibe reminiscent of artists like MJ Lenderman, Kurt Vile, and Neil Young but with that carefree charm that comes from simply doing it without overthinking. In the summer of 2024, Jesper and his band retreated to an old countryside studio to record eleven tracks for his debut album Soul For Sale. The result is a relaxed, honest record with personal songs about love, friendship, and life in a band. The songs reflect Jesper’s personality, honest and grounded. The pedal steel and the warm harmonies of vocalist/bassist Aimee Magsino add an extra layer of melancholy and atmosphere, perfectly capturing the vibe he was going for. While he still tours and plays with Paceshifters, JesperJesper is the place where he can tell his own stories, without pretense, just honest and unforced. Soul For Sale is the perfect soundtrack for a long summer drive with no destination in mind.
